Artist Bio or Statement / Bio de l’artiste ou la déclaration
I have always been fascinated by the way light affects objects, whether it’s through glass as a distortion of objects behind it; on metal as a reflection, or simply how it creates shadows to show the three dimensionality of objects. Having worked as a stone carver for many years I tend to see things in 3-D rather than flat 2-D. I generally draw in high contrast which creates depth, detail, and distinction between objects. I use mechanical pencils starting with 0.3-0.5 for fine detail and 0.7-0.9 for larger areas.
I have loved to draw forever. I have been in many galleries and shows in which I have won awards. My work has been published in several magazines including “Drawing Magazine” and also in the “Strokes of Genius” book series.
