Artist Bio or Statement / Bio de l’artiste ou la déclaration
My art is about my love for animals and nature, the beauty of the female figure
and to create imaginative personalities of animals or people.
Drawing and painting is my passion.
My drawing- and painting universe spans over classical drawing to colorful paintings and decorative illustrations.
My greatest inspiration and favorite motives are animals and nature.
I am fascinated by the wonderful nuances of shapes, colors, textures and patterns found in nature.
The texture of fur, the glow in an animals eyes, or how sunlight bounce over fur or feathers.
It is a never-ending inspiration.
I also find joy in drawing the female figure, either realistic or as original characters.
In my drawings and paintings I try visually to express my feelings from my observations or imagination;
to engage you – the viewer – by conveying a mood or “a story”.
In the traditional portrait I try to capture both likeness and personality of the animal.
The pencil is my favorite media. I love the details that pencils can achieve.
A strong expression in black and white can be outstanding. But I also love colors, so I use different colormedia to be able to satisfy that need.
My media: Graphite, colored pencils, watercolors, acrylic and pastels.
I have exhibited in Denmark and England. I have been judged into several competitions.
I have won an award in England and good placements in international competitions.
In addition, my art has been published in books and calendars in England and the United States.
