Artist Bio or Statement / Bio de l’artiste ou la déclaration
Judith Angell Meyer is a representational watercolorist and a graphite artist. She loves the stories that the American West has to tell in the reflections of its history, old buildings and hidden corners. Her work shares intimate scenes of wildlife we might not ever see, and the personalities of other animals in her life. Her watercolors and pencils show a mastery of the medium, and attention to detail. Combined with a respect for the need for more than just photographic realism, the need to convey the spirit or mood, of what she feels as well as what she sees.
Judith is primarily a self-taught artist with the exception of her senior art class in high school and three years at Hallmark. Currently with the Thunderbird Western Gallery here in Greeley. She has been a member of the Society of Animal Artists since 1989, currently showing in the 55th annual show at the Wildlife Experience in Parker, Colorado, 2014. The National Greeley Art Exhibition, 2013 winning an Honorable Mention, and the Greeley Art Show to kick off the annual Arts Picnic, 2013, winning Best of Show. Lost is our heritage but for our visions.
